Ahh, so. Movies:We went to see 2012 a day or two ago. It wasn't necessarily the best film I've seen, because of the not-so-original divorced-parents-n-kids the-(ex)-husband-(main-character)-too-im mersed-in-his-work-doesn't-have-time-for-k ids-and-is-a-writer plus-then-the-ex-wife-has-a-new-boyfrien d-the-kids-seem-to-prefer and the KABOOM-END-OF-THE-WORLD-as-we-know-it and they have to get saved. It was beautiful quite impressing to watch, with all the special effects (California going to pieces) but at some point you kind of lost the belief in the family being always able to just in time dodge the falling buildings and cracks on the ground. The main character father (played by, let's see... John Cusack) - I liked him, for some reason. There was something sympathetic about him. It was also good that he wasn't of the scientists working on the problem, but a more-or-less normal guy - unlike in films like 'The Day after Tomorrow' or something (uh, right?). Also there was this crazy guy who almost immediately I set eyes on him reminded me of the quite minor character of Max from the X-files. The end was okay, except that the divorced couple got back together. I mean, sure, yeah, happy end and stuff, but still? The death of the wife's new guy (who in fact had been really useful throughout the film, flying them to places) seemed quite forced, and no one was left to grieve for him as everyone was back together. Macro of the Day:Picture totally unrelated: It's so terribly sad that so few people these days, I mean, like, would get this. You win the nets if you do. //editing around midnight. I feel like such a terrible person for not continuing this one long story I've been working on for ages. I got back to it today, but couldn't progress the storyline anywhere. I just added descriptive text here and there. One day, one day you will buy my books and be amazed, trust me.

I'm slowly getting excited about this Alice Cooper gig I'm going to see in a couple of weeks' time. It's terribly nice of at least someone to be still alive and kicking and touring. In the past few years my hopes of both seeing the return of Pink Floyd (they could have, but then Wright died, so maybe not) and Michael Jackson (he went and died off too) have been ruined, so it's great to get to see someone. Also, you can not imagine my envy for mum, her sister and my cousin who saw David Bowie some years ago. I was too young to understand at that time, poor me. I have a strong feeling that I should use a Cooper macro here, but I won't as I still will tell you about Across the Universe. So we have this 2007-made the Beatles musical-movie set in the sixties in America where a Liverpoolian (you, know, someone from Liverpool, yes?) named Jude goes to find his dad and then falls in love with a girl named Lucy whose brother named Max(well, I believe) goes off to the Vietnam war and then there are people named Sadie, Prudence, dr. Robert (who really was Bono) and some other. The songs were good, as you might guess, but the music and singing wasn't really the best possible. One song did sound really good though, A Day in the Life, but it was an instrumental. The majority of the songs seemed a bit off, really, and only the ones relating to the plot had been subtitled (in terrible Finnish too). I have to leave now. A macro, though, as I promised:

Does this song have the coolest piano opening ever or what? It was yesterday that, thanks to a friend, this song stuck not only in my, but quite a number of people's heads. I've been unsuccessful at trying not to sing it aloud. I was told to listen to Toto. More of this and other stuff around the corner. //editin' later: holy fooking hell people! WHY DID NO ONE INFORM ME OF THIS? AAAA. Okay John looks nothing like John, but that Paul-playing guy who was in 'love, actually' too, that boy, he does resemble the real man. I'm just thinkin' that they should make a PROPER The Beatles film. Or just a Lennon film. Or just the youth of John Lennon, whatever. But Still! I had been totally oblivious of this! // and again: If you ever feel bored.

From somewhere I got a boost of energy and thanks to that I've been scannincg some of my drawings. They'll all be up at deviantart, but one I wanted to share only with you folks. It's an oldish self-portrait of mine: ( here )

... Why is it always at this time of the night when the best inspirations strike you, tell me?

Have a guess what it was that I forgot that was so important that I had to get up at this time to get it done? //edit at 6:09 ( let out some steam )OOD bleeping SIGMA, man! So what I had forgotten was the New Doctor Who episode Waters of Mars that came out on Sunday evening. It was good. It was good, because it was sad, and the Doctor went crazy realized a lot of stuff ( and here begin the spoilers, not that you'll mind, I suppose) and he did something he shouldn't have which made him see that 'argh have I gone too far, am I going to die?' and there was OOD SIGMA who I hope will play a bigger part in The End of Time, the next episode, coming out at Christmas. The monster of this episode was more or less boring, but the story was okay and DAVID BOWIE FOR THE INFINITE WIN YEEAH! Also, there was this light-shine-outta-my-arse moment I just needed to cap. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. But yeah, all in all, it was awesome and great because it wasn't fun. It was sad and devastating and I'll be so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so sad when Tennant goes that argh, but at least they'll have all the old good characters in the next two episodes and then that Moffat or Moffrat or what the hell it was guy takes over the writing and he's just awesome. Awesome.

Tchaikovsky has been one of my favourite classical composers for a very long time. I don't remember when I first consciously listened to his music, but I do know that I still consider him a true favourite of mine (along with Mozart - those two I love the best). Some weeks ago we had to make a representation of a sort of a classical composer and my team (it was really just a pair of us) was assigned to Schubert. The teacher took his time thinking what to give us as we were the last team to get the composer, and I almost suggested Tchaikovsky. I should have. I really, really should have. Mind you, I do love all classical music, not only those two composers. I love all of it ( and apparently this is strange - or so my classmate's face said when I compared another classmates 'currently playing' - some rap or other, to my classical waltz last Wednesday ) Well, yeah. Yeah. What was I...? Yeah. I was supposed to come and tell you of the awesomeness of Princess Tutu again. I just gotta say that I'm glad I was so young at the time I first heard of it I didn't really mind the terrible name - had someone come up to me now I would've probably ignored it as some terrible children's thing and not given it another thought. Which brings me to Utena. Now where could I find... *goes off to search* You see it was because of this awesome person whom I adore to no end finnish artist guy girl . . . young woman (But haa haa I'm not telling you who!) made me watch Tutu and now I- BLAH. Too much of a bother to write. /not that you'd get the reference. It's the knock-out (whee totally! ...what should it be in English, I wonder) mushrooms Moomin episode. . And, uh, remember when I said that I'd (sort of) watched Code Geass? Well. As you know I didn't quite watch it from the beginning to the end. I am tempted though, to give another try, just because of this: Go Go CLAMP, save my day once again! /I'm having some very serious problems here, people.

First, look at this: And then tell me why I don't own one yet. Is that like the greatest umbrella ever? Blade Runner for the win! Movies: Theres an other Holmes adaptation coming out, probably some low budget straight-to-dvd/blu-ray thingy, but lo! this Holmes is a little bit like the real one. (Still, he's [arguably] too young and his hair is too long. And Watson should for ever be shorter than Holmes.) Two things I find rather weird are the steampunky objects in the gallery and the tyrannosaurus rex. I probably won't see this, ever, but I felt the need to announce the existence of this to you. The real Sherlock Holmes is a mixture of the TV series guy and the Star Wars evil commander guy. And David Bowie! Absolutely!

Why does it always seem that there are no good movies in theatres? You're always waiting for a film or two, but none of the ones they're currently showing are good. Mind you, you can watch movies elsewhere too. Yesterday I watched ' How I Won the War'. Though I generally dislike war films, this one was quite good. Of course, it wasn't all just killing the enemies, it was about these hopeless men trying to get behind enemy lines so that they could put up a cricket ... field? what do you call it? there. It was very British and that means that it wasn't really all that funny. Made in the mid-to-late-sixties, even the Pythons hadn't emerged as a group yet. The film did have its moments, like the way some of the characters (seemingly spontaneously) turned all clad in one bright colour. Not until the very end of the film did I realize that it probably was made so that when a character died, he turned colourful, the same colour in which the battle-sequence in which he died was filmed in (make any sense?). Unfortunately I can't find any screencaps of them. Oh, yes, by the way, it's the film John Lennon was in after the Beatles quit touring in -66. His colour was blue. Then, this: I know it's sorta old, but still. I mean, I found out about this only, like, a week ago, and I sort of cried. Not even 'sort of'. I did. Where did my hero disappear? Now, I'm repairing the damage done with this, okay, and we forget that Gackt ever looked like that ^, yes? It's interesting how no one seems to know/like Malice Mizer even though everything Japanese is totally, like, 'in' right now, and has been so the last couple years. I mean, people, it's like GACKT, the prettiest singer ever, and MANA, who, like, invented Elegant Gothic Lolita, and they're both pretty and YOUNG. Ah well. Maybe it's just good.

We-he-helll... . . . . . The first week of school is almost over, and I come to you bearing gifts. First two pictures of me wearing glasses I bought today ( and before you come to complain I'd just like to inform you that to me wearing glasses is a bit like wearing high heels is to some people. I mean, high heels make you taller->better looking, yes? Then why not with glasses as well [not sayin' they make me tall though] ? ) this I am saying: these pictures, even though taken in a terrible yellow light with a webcam look a thousand times better than the school pictures of this year. So yay. (point 1.5: Is anyone reminded of this? You can't actually see it from those pics, but that's totally how my hair goes like in the front.)Second, my über-awesome English essay-type-sort-of thing. In a separate post, just because. Then. . . . . . . . . .*suspense* - - - *roll doom music* We went to see this film yesterday, me and dad: empty space
(well not so empty since I wrote this)
continuing with the underwater theme, eh? . .
First of all: MIYAZAKI GENIUS x million. Unbelievable. I mean really. It was something you (or me) did not expect (I was totally unspoiled though and all). Definitely worth seeing. And it made me want to watch Mononoke-hime (though 'something something something Ponyo*' was something so very different {all children-y and happy and non-bloody.} ) I don't really know what I should write of it. . .
* the name as I remember it. IMDB tells me the somethings translate to Gake no Ue no ...
. . . Ahhumh. *Is reminded of 'ugh, paperi loppui.'*
Yeah, what was I.... Oh yeah the sewing. Well, it is a bit desperate with me, really, but no worries. Also. Saturday (the day of one-eyebrow'd people (united eyebrows)) = Hetalia Day. Doubt I'm gonna do anything though. And chapter HOLiC 188 translated.
